• Net Casino Sucker Bets — Part 2

  • Progressive side wagers: Casino games such as Caribbean Stud Poker regularly offer one of these. You typically place a wager ($1 is the normal value) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Though huge jackpots like these are very appealing, they are also incredibly difficult to succeed. You might have to get a Royal Flush in order to win this bet. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and make the side wager each time. That’s twenty dollars you could have used towards the actual game wager in place of a sucker bet. Picture what you might have been able to win at a wager with more favorable odds utilizing that twenty dollars.
  • Single number wagers in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just one. This shifts the complete casino edge from two% with one zero wheel to a huge five% in American. The single number bet has only a 1 in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower casino edge.
  • Keno: Any variation of Keno, and anyway you gamble on it, the house advantage can be a huge 25%. No, that is not a typo. Because of the huge set of numbers you have to select, it is not advisable to gamble on Keno very much. A couple of times for entertainment, maybe. But don’t waste all your money on it or you’ll immediately discover yourself beaten.
